Car Carpet Cleaning in Hewlett, NY
Car carpet takes everything the bottom of a shoe carries and holds it against a metal floor pan. In a Nassau County winter that means road salt, and salt does not simply sit there. It dissolves, wicks into the fibre, dries into a white crystalline bloom and starts working on the metal underneath the padding.

Overview
Car Carpet Cleaning done in the right order
Floor carpet is a genuinely different job from seats. It is heavier, more abused, and it sits over a pan that can hold standing water if a seal or a heater core has been leaking. We check for that before assuming a wet footwell is something cleaning will solve.
How the job runs
Our car carpet cleaning process
Four stages, in this order every time, because each one depends on the one before it.
Mats out, carpet vacuumed dry
Floor mats are removed and treated separately so we can reach the carpet underneath, which is almost always dirtier than the mat that was covering it.
Salt and mineral treatment
White salt bloom needs a neutralising treatment rather than plain water, which just redistributes it. This is the step that actually clears winter residue instead of moving it around.
Agitate and hot water extract
A brush works solution into the pile so it reaches the backing, then extraction flushes it out. Footwells get the most attention because that is where the concentration is.
Trunk, well and dry down
The trunk floor comes up so the spare well underneath gets done, then air moves through the cabin until the carpet is dry through the pile rather than just at the surface.

Local notes
Car Carpet Cleaning on Long Island
The salt problem is specific and seasonal here. Roads across Nassau County are treated heavily from December through March, and cars parked outside in Valley Stream, Lynbrook or Franklin Square accumulate it fastest because the driver walks across a treated driveway before getting in. By February most driver footwells in the area have a visible white crust. Beach sand is the summer equivalent, and cars that park close to the water in Island Park or Long Beach get both plus a persistent damp that slows drying.
We are based at 1534 Broadway in Hewlett and the service is fully mobile, so the car never leaves your driveway. Call (516) 894-2876 and we will tell you honestly what the schedule looks like.

Questions
Car Carpet Cleaning — FAQs
Can you remove white salt stains from the carpet?
Yes, and it needs a neutralising treatment rather than water alone. Plain water dissolves salt and moves it deeper into the padding, where it recrystallises as it dries and reappears within a week. Treating it properly is why the result holds through the rest of the winter.
My footwell is wet and I do not know why. Can you help?
We can clean it, but first we will look at why. A persistently wet footwell usually means a leaking door seal, a blocked air conditioning drain or a heater core, and cleaning a carpet that is being refilled with water every week is money wasted. We will tell you what we find.
Do you clean rubber all-weather mats as well?
Yes, and they are worth doing at the same time. Rubber mats trap salt and grit in their channels and then hold it against the carpet underneath, so cleaning the carpet while putting a dirty mat back on top undoes half the work.
How long does car carpet take to dry?
Two to four hours with the doors open and air moving. Carpet holds more moisture than seat fabric because it is thicker, so we do extra dry passes and will not close the car up until it is dry through.
Is it worth cleaning the carpet before selling the car?
Very much so. Footwells and the trunk are two of the first places a buyer looks, and a clean floor signals a car that has been cared for. It is one of the cheapest things you can do to affect a sale price.
