Car Detailing in Hewlett, NY
A full detail is not a car wash with better soap. It is a systematic pass over every surface of the vehicle in a fixed order, starting with the dirtiest work and finishing with the most delicate, so that nothing you clean early gets contaminated by something you clean later.

Overview
Car Detailing done in the right order
That order matters more than any single product. Wheels come first because brake dust sprays everywhere. Interior vacuuming happens before wet work so dust does not turn to mud. Glass is last because everything else throws residue onto it. Skip the sequence and you end up doing half the job twice.
How the job runs
Our car detailing process
Four stages, in this order every time, because each one depends on the one before it.
Wheels, tires and arches
The dirtiest part of any car, and the reason it goes first. Brake dust is iron particulate that bonds to the wheel face, and it needs a dedicated cleaner and a brush rather than the same mitt going on your paint afterwards.
Exterior wash and decontamination
A two-bucket hand wash so grit is not dragged back across the panel, then decontamination to lift anything the soap left behind. This is what makes the paint feel smooth rather than gritty when you run a hand over it.
Interior strip and vacuum
Mats out, seats moved, everything vacuumed dry including the seat rails and the trunk. Dry soil comes out before any moisture is introduced, which is the same principle we apply to carpet in a house.
Surfaces, glass and protection
Plastics and vinyl cleaned and dressed to a satin finish rather than a greasy shine, leather conditioned, glass done inside and out, and a protective layer applied to the paint.

Local notes
Car Detailing on Long Island
Cars in the Five Towns take a specific kind of abuse. Winter road salt on Peninsula Boulevard and Rockaway Turnpike gets into the carpet through boots and sits there dissolving into the fibres, and the same salt spray works into the wheel arches and lower panels. Come spring, tree pollen coats everything from Woodmere up through Lynbrook, and cars parked near the water in Hewlett Harbor or Atlantic Beach carry a salt film on the paint that ordinary washing does not fully remove.
We are based at 1534 Broadway in Hewlett and the service is fully mobile, so the car never leaves your driveway. Call (516) 894-2876 and we will tell you honestly what the schedule looks like.

Questions
Car Detailing — FAQs
How long does a full detail take?
Three to six hours for most cars, depending on size and condition. A well-kept sedan that gets detailed twice a year is at the short end. A family SUV that has carried kids, dogs and beach trips for three years without a proper clean is at the long end, and we will tell you which one you have before we start.
What is the difference between a detail and a car wash?
A car wash cleans the outside surface. A detail addresses every surface on the vehicle, including the ones you cannot reach with a hose: seat rails, vents, door jambs, headliner, trunk wells and the underside of the seats. It also involves decontaminating and protecting paint rather than just rinsing it.
Do you come to me or do I bring the car?
We come to you. The whole service is mobile, so we work in your driveway in Hewlett or wherever the car is parked, and you carry on with your day. We need a bit of space around the vehicle and that is essentially it.
How often should a car be fully detailed?
Twice a year suits most drivers, typically once in spring to clear winter salt and once in autumn. Cars that carry pets, children or work equipment benefit from three times a year. Between full details, an interior refresh keeps things from building up.
Will detailing fix scratches in my paint?
A full detail cleans, protects and makes paint look considerably better, but it does not remove scratches. Scratch and swirl removal is paint correction, which is a machine polishing service we do not currently offer. We will tell you honestly if that is what your paint actually needs.
