Interior Car Detailing in Hewlett, NY
The inside of a car is a sealed box that you breathe in for an hour a day. It collects skin cells, food, spilled drink, pollen pulled in through the vents and whatever came off the bottom of everybody's shoes, and unlike a room in your house it has no air changes and almost no light reaching most of it.

Overview
Interior Car Detailing done in the right order
Interior detailing works the cabin as a whole rather than spot-cleaning what shows. That means the areas nobody looks at: under the seats, the rails they slide on, the seat belt webbing, the vent louvres, the door pockets and the trunk well under the floor panel. Those are where the smell lives.
How the job runs
Our interior car detailing process
Four stages, in this order every time, because each one depends on the one before it.
Empty and dry vacuum
Everything comes out, mats included. The cabin is vacuumed dry from the headliner down, with crevice tools through the seat rails, the gap between seat and console, and the trunk spare well.
Hard surfaces and vents
Dashboard, console, door cards, switchgear and vent louvres cleaned with a detail brush rather than wiped. Vents in particular hold a surprising amount of dust that blows straight back at you when the fan runs.
Fabric and leather
Seats and carpet are treated according to material. Fabric gets a hot water extraction; leather gets a pH-correct clean and a conditioner. Neither is soaked, because a car cabin dries slowly and a damp seat becomes a mildew problem.
Glass, finish and airflow
Interior glass cleaned last, since it catches residue from every other step. Then air moved through the cabin until everything is dry to the touch before we hand it back.

Local notes
Interior Car Detailing on Long Island
School-run cars around Woodmere, Cedarhurst and Hewlett are the ones we see most, and they follow a pattern: crumbs and juice in the second row, sand from Atlantic Beach and Long Beach in every seam, and a faint sour smell nobody can locate that turns out to be under a child seat. Cars that spend the winter in an unheated driveway in Valley Stream or Lynbrook get salt tracked into the driver footwell, which crystallises into a white bloom on the carpet that vacuuming alone will not lift.
We are based at 1534 Broadway in Hewlett and the service is fully mobile, so the car never leaves your driveway. Call (516) 894-2876 and we will tell you honestly what the schedule looks like.

Questions
Interior Car Detailing — FAQs
How long does an interior detail take?
Two to four hours for most vehicles. Three-row SUVs and minivans take longer simply because there is more of them, and heavy staining or pet hair adds time. We give you a firm number and a realistic finish time before starting.
Will the seats be wet afterwards?
Damp to the touch at worst, and dry within a couple of hours. A car cabin has poor airflow, so we deliberately use low moisture and extract more than we put in. We also leave doors open and air moving rather than closing the car up wet.
Can you get out old spilled milk or juice smells?
Usually. Those are protein and sugar residues that have soaked into the foam under the seat cover, so surface cleaning does nothing. We treat them with an enzyme applied deep enough to reach the source, which digests the residue causing the smell rather than covering it.
Do you clean the trunk as well?
Yes, including lifting the floor panel and cleaning the spare wheel well underneath. That well is where water collects if a seal leaks, and it is a common source of a musty smell that people spend months blaming on the cabin.
Is interior detailing safe for a car with a child seat?
Yes, and it is one of the better reasons to book it. We ask you to remove the seat beforehand if you can, since the area underneath is usually the dirtiest part of the vehicle and we cannot reach it otherwise. Everything we use is non-toxic and fully extracted.
