Remove and treat
Affected surfaces are cleaned and treated with an antimicrobial rather than bleach, which damages fabric and dye and does not address what is below the surface anyway.
Dry thoroughly and treat the air system
Proper drying with sustained airflow, because residual moisture restarts the whole process. The ventilation system is treated too, since spores circulate through it.

Can you just clean it without fixing the leak?
We can, but we will tell you plainly that it will come back. Mold needs moisture, and if the moisture source is still there the growth returns. We would rather identify the leak and have you address it, then do the cleaning once and have it hold.
Do you use bleach?
No. Bleach damages automotive fabric and dye, does not penetrate to where growth actually is, and adds moisture to a problem caused by moisture. We use an antimicrobial treatment appropriate to the material instead.
What if the carpet padding is affected?
Then cleaning alone may not be enough and the padding may need to come out. That is a bigger job involving pulling seats and carpet, and it is the point at which we would tell you honestly what it involves so you can decide whether it is worth it for the vehicle.
My car smells musty but I cannot see any mold. Is it worth checking?
