Identify the finish
Coated, semi-aniline and perforated leather each need a different approach, and perforated seats especially cannot take a product that will pool in the holes. A quick absorption test settles it before anything is applied.
pH-correct clean
A leather-specific cleaner lifts body oil and hand soil without stripping the topcoat. Bolsters, the steering wheel and the armrest get the longest attention because that is where the oil concentrates.
Detail the seams and perforations
Soil collects in stitch lines and perforation holes where a cloth never reaches. A soft detail brush lifts it out, and this is usually the step that makes the whole seat read as clean rather than merely wiped.
Condition and protect
A conditioner restores flexibility so the hide flexes instead of cracking at the wear line, finished to a satin surface rather than the greasy shine that cheap dressings leave.

Can you repair cracked leather seats?
No. Once the hide has cracked at a fold the fibre structure has broken, and cleaning or conditioning will not close it. What conditioning does is stop the cracking spreading and keep the rest of the seat flexible. Actual repair is a leather restoration trade and we will point you toward one.
Are household wipes safe on car leather?
No, and this is the most common self-inflicted damage we see. Baby wipes and all-purpose sprays strip the urethane topcoat, which is the only thing protecting the hide. Once it is gone the leather absorbs dye from clothing, and blue transfer from jeans onto light seats is very difficult to reverse.
Can you get blue jean dye off cream leather?
Partly, usually. If the topcoat is intact the dye sits on the surface and comes off with the right cleaner. If the coating has already been stripped, the dye is in the hide itself and only lightens. We test a small area and tell you which situation you are in before you commit.
How often should car leather be conditioned?
Once a year for a daily driver, twice if the car lives outside or you are in and out of it constantly. It is one of those jobs where the cost of doing it is trivial against the cost of reupholstering a bolster.
Do you clean perforated ventilated seats?
Yes, with care. Perforated leather cannot take a product that pools, because anything that goes through the holes ends up in the foam and the ventilation ducts. We use minimal product and extract rather than letting it sit.
